Over 12,000 participants<\/strong> from across the state who would compete for excellence in 232 different art forms<\/strong>. That’s not all, there are over 3,000 organisers, 1,000 journalists and 800 police personnel. And hundreds of thousands of spectators.<\/p>\n
DPI M S Jaya hoisted the festival flag at Putharikandam Maidan, the main venue of the weeklong festival, at 9am Today. DGP T P Senkumar will flag off the festival cultural procession from the Government Sanskrit College here on Tuesday afternoon. Chief minister Oommen Chandy will officially inaugurate the festival after the opening show.<\/p>\n
Pazhayidam Mohanan Namboothiri and his team will prepare food for the entire participants and organizers of the event, at a pandal set up at the Thycaud police ground. The pandal can accommodate 3,000 people at a time. The KSRTC will help the transportation of the participants and organizers between the various venues. Accommodation has been arranged in 15 select schools in the city.<\/p>\n
