Tovino Thomas<\/strong>, the charismatic actor who garnered attention through Martin Prakkat’s ABCD is slowly making it big in Tinseltown. Read the space more to know what he had to share with everyone when EnteCity caught up!<\/p>\n

\u20182016\u2019<\/h2>\n

With two releases \u2018Style<\/strong>\u2019 and \u2018Monsoon Mangoes<\/strong>\u2019 in January, the year started in a good note for Tovino.<\/p>\n

\u201cStyle was my first release of the year in which I played the villain Edgar. In Monsoon Mangoes I played a cameo role. It was so gladdening to receive positive feedbacks for these movies and my characters. I love to be part of good movies and Monsoon Mangoes was such an initiative. The director Abi Varghese and script writer Naveen Bhaskar are my good friends and I was so happy to join them. Whether it\u2019s a full-length role or cameo, I love doing it if the movie demands my presence. My next film is \u2018Randu Penkuttikal<\/strong>\u2019 by Jeo Baby in which I play a small role, but the film and the character satisfied me. Recently, some media suggested that I should stay away from cameo roles, which didn\u2019t make any sense at all. It really makes me happy if I can substantially contribute to film through one or two scenes\u201d, he says.<\/p>\n

I won\u2019t say that I\u2019m err free actor; I\u2019m still mastering the art of acting. However, I put sincere effort in whatever roles I do<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Edgar and over expectation\u2019<\/h2>\n

Tovino\u2019s Edgar is \u2018Style\u2019 film was in limelight ever since the movie posters and trailer was released.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe I gave my 100% for Edgar. Before the release of the film I made it clear that it\u2019s a mass entertainer film and approach in such a way. Some may have portrayed a different Edgar in their mind and that led to over expectation and slight criticism in social media upon its release. I won\u2019t say that I\u2019m err free actor; I\u2019m still mastering the art of acting. However, I put sincere effort in whatever roles I do\u201d<\/p>\n

We want box-office hits, not torrent hits!<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Social Media\u2019<\/h2>\n

Tovino is active in social media and he follows it keenly. However, he has his own views on social media activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cSocial media has opened up a new prospect in the field of movie promotion. But social media has also become vital in deciding the fate of a movie. People are free to post their opinions and reviews of movies, but most of the time it goes in a destructive manner; we need constructive ones. Reviews should be always unbiased and genuine. If one doesn\u2019t like a movie, he\/she can post it, but it shouldn\u2019t be in a way of purposefully degrading it. Everyone makes movies with the intention of making good ones and there is a lot of effort in that. Degrading movies affects in a very bad way and retract people who want to watch those in theaters. Posting constructive criticism will help the director, cast and crew of the movie to fare better in their next outing. We want box-office hits, not torrent hits!\u201d, he adds.<\/p>\n

Ennu Ninte Moideen gave the best break of my career.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Appu & Georgy\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u2018Ennu Ninte Moideen<\/a>\u2019 and \u2018Charlie<\/a>\u2019 presented a dream year for him in 2015. The accolade he received for \u2018Perumparambil Appu\u2019 in Ennu Ninte Moideen is never ending.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnnu Ninte Moideen gave the best break of my career. I was sure that the movie was going to make a big impact but honestly didn\u2019t expect such a response for my acting. I would like to give the credit the director R.S Vimal<\/a>, Cinematographer Jomon T John<\/a>, Music Director Gopi Sundar<\/a>, Prithviraj, Parvathy and all associated with the movie for yielding such a response. Always teamwork produces the best result and this movie is an example for that. I love and hope to associate with such good teams in my future projects too. Charlie was like coming back to home team. Again it\u2019s a cameo role, but I loved being part of such a good movie and team. Even though small, the movie gave me an opportunity to share screen space with Venu chettan and KPAC Lalitha chechi, which itself is a huge honor. Being a photographer Martin chettan knows well about my features and he presents me most handsomely on screen. I\u2019m happy that I sincerely delivered my part for these movies\u201d, he says proudly.<\/p>\n

Tovino won Asiavision\u2019s Best Supporting Actor award for Ennu Ninte Moideen, Ramu Kariat Award for Promising Star and is nominated for Best Supporting Actor category in IIFA awards.<\/p>\n

Cinema is like mass hypnotism and it influences people easily than any other media<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Entry into big screen\u2019<\/h2>\n

Tovino is basically an engineer and gave up IT career to pursue his dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe actor in me was born through my endless move for cinema. The love for cinema was escalated after participating in film festivals. That urged me to watch more and more good movies. Cinema is like mass hypnotism and it influences people easily than any other media. It\u2019s evident from the impact cinema creates among the people, the respect and recognition they show to the film fraternity. Cinema lets people realize us anywhere in the world. I won\u2019t have what I\u2019m now without the love and support of my family and friends\u201d, he adds.<\/p>\n

I still don\u2019t know whether I have the maturity to be a father<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Parenthood\u2019<\/h2>\n

Tovino and his wife Lidiya was blessed with a baby girl last week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a special feel to be a father. The feel I experienced when I took her in my arms is unexplainable. The mother and baby are doing fine and I\u2019m enjoying my free time with them. I still don\u2019t know whether I have the maturity to be a father. Being father of a girl impart huge responsibility on me\u201d, he says laughingly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhichever the field maybe, try it sincerely and genuinely. Time is a big factor too. If we give 100% to anything, success will definitely follow\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a place where I got lot of good friends. I knew Trivandrum more thorough film festivals, it was a great experience. Whenever I\u2019m there I love spending time hanging around with my friends in city premises\u201d, he says.<\/p>\n
