Urban Affairs Minister Manjalamkuzhi Ali on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the commercial complex. State government has given administrative sanction for Rs.15 crore for the project.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The commercial complex \u00a0will come up at Chala on a 5.5-acre site alongside the Killippalam-Attakulangara Bypass.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The 100 crore project envisages construction of a world-class commercial complex of an area of 22,500 square metres and vegetable markets &amp; rehabilitation blocks of an area of 3,000 square metres. It also includes a massive auditorium that can seat <strong>3,000 persons<\/strong>. Apart from the, the complex also includes internal roads, parking space, rehabilitation blocks etc. Two roads are proposed through the land to link the existing Chala market and the Attakulangara-Killipalam Bypass Road. Work on the first block of the commercial complex will commence shortly. But due to several reasons, the plan failed to materialize.
