Called ‘XMOR (Extended Media On Rails), the technology provides various facilities from high definition screen to Wi-Fi services on city buses. Developed by a software company Techxcore Solutions Pvt Ltd, XMOR, a hardware device, is capable to provide internet connectivity, auto scheduling and location identification facilities.<\/p>\n
The HD screens will be used to display awareness videos, news highlights of the day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The HD screens will be used to display awareness videos, news highlights of the day.\u00a0 It can also screen videos in HD quality in the bus, downloaded from a portal designed by the company. As per the system, the videos to be screened are automatically scheduled through the portal and also has an offline player in case the bus is travelling through low connectivity area. The screen will be placed on the space behind the driver’s seat with required safety measures so that there is no distraction for the driver.<\/p>\n
HD display screens varying from 22 to 32 inches will be installed in five private buses operating from East Fort. Each unit will cost Rs 40,000. The select bus routes are East Fort-Vazhayila-Medical College, East Fort-Vallakadavu, East Fort-Konchiravila-Medical College, East Fort-Beemapally- Pappanamcode and East Fort-Pongumoodu-Thrikannapuram. A control room has been set up at the office of the company at Vanchiyoor for technical assistance.<\/p>\n
In the second stage, the company plans to introduce more value added features such as Wi-Fi.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
