Lulu Group is planning to invest Rs5,000 crore\u00a0 in India by 2020 largely for setting up shopping malls.<\/p>\n

Yusuff Ali M A, managing director of Lulu Group has already zeroed in on constructing mega shopping malls in Trivandrum, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

In Trivandrum Lulu group is soon going to construct a world-class mall near the existing Akkulam bridge toll booth.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“We have got India’s biggest shopping mall in Cochin. Now we have decided to set up one shopping mall in Trivandrum, one in Bengaluru, one in Chennai and one in Hyderabad. I am a shopping mall man<\/em>,” said Yusuff Ali.<\/p>\n

Not much about the project is known. But it is expected that the mall will come up in area of 19 acres<\/strong> with a total built up space of 2.5M S.ft.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apart from housing world\u2019s leading brand outlets, food courts and multiplexes. The project also envisages a 150 suit 5-Star Hotel from Marriott<\/strong> and a large convention centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe business environment in India has improved significantly. A lot of restrictions are moved to facilitate investment. The best thing the new government has done to treat all NRI investment as domestic investment<\/em>,” said Yusuff Ali MA<\/p>\n

Ali also said the government’s decision to consider NRI investment as domestic investment would go a long way in helping India get investment from its NRI community.<\/p>\n

The group has 124 shopping malls<\/strong> globally with operations in 30 countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Yemen, among other countries, and employs 35,000 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
