Trivandrumites rejoice! After months of rumours and mysteries, we are finally getting to see the first rendered images of upcoming Lulu mall in Trivandrum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The world-class mall which is coming up near Akkulam toll plaza has a total area of 2.5 Million sqft and consists of Mall, a convention centre and a 5 star Hotel.<\/p>\n

It has three levels for retail and leisure with a total GLA (Gross leasable area) of 61,000sqm.<\/p>\n

There will also be a Lulu Hypermarket with an area of 8,100 sqm and a Lulu Department Store with a space of another 8,100 sqm. Lulu Mall Trivandrum will have a parking capacity to park around 2,500 cars.<\/p>\n

Apart from housing world\u2019s leading brand outlets, food courts and multiplexes. The project also envisages a 150 suit 5-Star Hotel from Marriott and a large convention centre.<\/p>\n

The images which first appeared in a site called Design International<\/a> says 2018. This could either mean the mall will be open in 2018 or the construction will start in 2018.\u00a0 If 2 years is plenty to build a mall like this, then we will get to see Lulu Mall hopefully by 2018.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Yusuff Ali M A, managing director of Lulu Group said the company is planning to invest Rs5,000 crore\u00a0 in India by 2020<\/a> largely for setting up shopping malls. The locations include Trivandrum, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

The group has 124 shopping malls globally with operations in 30 countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Yemen, among other countries, and employs 35,000 people.<\/p>\n
