The yearly training camp by the 2 Kerala Battalion NCC is currently ongoing at Government VHSS for the Deaf, Jagathy. The camp includes almost 700 boy and girl cadets from 14 institutions of the district, NCC officers, supporting staff of Army employees and civilian staff. The camp began on last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As per the reports, the camp mainly aims at giving excellent training in firing, weapon use, map reading, drill and other military subjects. A range of competitions like quiz, elocution and other cultural activities will be conducted as a part of the camp for selecting the apt cadets to be fielded at Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) and Republic Day Parade in Delhi. Thorough training will be given to the chosen cadets in firing which will allow them to contest in TSC and All India Mavlankar Shooting Competition.<\/p>\n
The selected cadets will also get an opportunity to represent the state in National Integration Camps. The cadets will also get eligibility to appear in NCC A, B and certificate examinations on successful completion of camp. Col BP Singh, Officer Commanding, 2(K) Bn NCC is the commandant of camp.
