District authorities have started taking strict action against those who dump waste into the storm drains.<\/p>\n
It was found that people are dumping garbage on storm drains clogging them. These storm drains were earlier cleared, as part of Operation Anantha, spending crores of money.<\/p>\n
If the offence is repeated the violator will be charged with KAAPA, an act that deals with habitual offenders.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Collector said that if the offence is repeated the violator will be charged with KAAPA. KAAPA stands for Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. “It is an act that deals with habitual offenders. If people continue to commit the same mistake, they will be charged under <\/em>Kaapa and will have to spend one year in prison<\/em>,” said Biju Prabhakar.<\/p>\n
Recently, a man was caught dumping waste into the canal near Chenkalchoola. Man named Rafi would collect used mattresses, food waste from hotels and other old household stuff in his autorickshaw and dump it in drains. His auto was also seized by the police.<\/p>\n
