Expediting steps to decongest, National Highway Authority has appointed a consultancy to prepare a fresh Detailed Project Report (DPR) for four-landing of the NH-66 from Cherthala to Kazhakuttam. Delhi-based SMCE will prepare the detailed project report. The company will survey on the 172.8-km stretch later this month. The consultant will have to prepare the DPR and the estimate for four-landing in six months.<\/p>\n
The alignment finalised for the proposed four-lane carriageway, which will have a right of way of 45 metres which will not be altered.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
DPR will be prepared by following the IRC codes and will extensively the study geometric deficiencies of the two-lane road and the structural stability of the existing bridges. The officials of the firm will also meet the Collectors of Trivandrum, Kollam, and Alappuzha as opposition is anticipated in carrying out the survey again on the corridor.<\/p>\n
