The week long anti-drug campaign Vande Keralam by 92.7 Big FM ended in huge success as hundreds of people converged at the Martyr\u2019s Column in Palayam over a week to take an oath to renounce drugs and alcohol.<\/p>\n

Vande Keralam Season 5 sets a new record of RJ Marathon by Kidilam Firoz breaking his own record of 106 hours and breaking a national record of 112 hours to 125 glorious hours. He spoke against drugs and made 935 people walked in and pledged that they will quit alcohol\/ drugs etc.<\/p>\n

RJ Firoz was conducting the RJ marathon from a \u201cjail\u201d in the Martyrs\u2019 Column in Palayam and the campaign will only stop until at least 927 people take an oath to renounce drugs. Thanks to RJ Firoz’s continuous effort, 935 people walked in and pledged that they will quit alcohol and drugs.<\/p>\n

Many former drug users and alcoholics came forward to share their story which inspired the public.<\/p>\n

Over the last week, many prominent personalities from film, political and\u00a0social quarters came forward soliciting their cooperation for the campaign. Minister Kadannappally Ramachandran, Oommen Chandy, Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Trivandrum Mayor Prasanth, Vava Suresh and many other famous personalities visited RJ Firoz to share their thoughts with the Public.<\/p>\n

Many students from school and college came forward and pledged their support for the campaign. Representatives of various business institutions and non-profit organizations also came forward and offered their support.<\/p>\n

\"Vande<\/p>\n

A lot of independent anti-drug campaign and activities were presented to the public including a 30-minute street play by Kerala Police\u2019s drama team which urged people to give up drugs. A team from Nizhalattam also performed and a group of bikers named \u2018TURBO\u2019 visited four schools in the district to spread awareness among students.<\/p>\n

The curtain raiser of the event<\/a> was conducted with a grand function on last Sunday at Shangumugham beach, in the presence of Suresh Gopi MP, Archbishop Soosapakiam and District Collector Biju Prabhakar.<\/p>\n

Season 5 of 92.7 Big FM\u2019s Vande Keralam is sponsored by Chaithanya Eye Hospital, Akshaya Catering, Sun Homes and Ziva Maternity wear.
