Amid a debate over increasing stray dog menace, Kerala government has decided to intensify the sterilization programme for stray dogs by conducting special camps and preparing a long-term programme for controlling stray dog population. The decision follows the tragic death of a 65-year-old woman at Pulluvila here after she was badly mauled by a pack of dogs two days ago.<\/p>\n
The state government has directed a coordinated effort from various departments to tackle the issue. A review meeting held in the presence of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan decided to implement a long-term dog menace control programme across the state on October 1.<\/p>\n
