Entrusted with the overall charge of the destination, this designated authority will handle day-to-day matters regarding the security and safety of the people. The entire resort area will come under a security system that incorporates a CCTV surveillance network round the clock. Fencing will be put in place around popular viewpoints such as the Edakkal rocks to ensure tourist safety without becoming an eyesore.<\/p>\n

Kerala Tourism recently laid out a short-term roadmap to address the issues faced by Kovalam. Some of the issues include infrastructural concerns, including the supply of potable water, waste management, adequate vehicle parking facilities and public safety measures etc. Alleviating the drinking water shortage is also high on the agenda and Kerala water authority (KWA) is expected to pump water from its Vellayani treatment plant soon.<\/p>\n
