Nowadays, people are aware of the needs of staying healthy and more people are coming forward to stay fit. But due to exorbitant fees charged by private gymnasiums are forcing many health enthusiasts to stay away from the gym. It was in this context that K N Balagopal, former Rajya Sabha MP, thought about having an open gym. HE got this concept when he visited Istanbul, Turkey, some years ago, and saw some morning walkers using the open gym installed in the city. He allotted Rs 15 lakh for the constructing the open gym and DTPC provided the space at Adventure Park.<\/p>\n
Anyone can avail the facilities of the gym for free and without any time restrictions. There would be an instructor to guide people to use the equipment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Anyone can avail the facilities of the gym for free and without any time restrictions. There would be an instructor to guide people to use the equipment that has already been installed. As many as 19 health equipments was installed in the Park and all of them are weatherproof.<\/p>\n
“Almost all the works are completed. We have used high-end, weatherproof equipment at the gym. It would be of great use to the common people who find it difficult to afford the health clubs. Moreover, an open gym like this would inspire more people to make exercise a daily routine<\/em>,” said K N Balagopal to Times of India.<\/p>\n
