The National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (Natpac) has decided to conduct the feasibility study for the flyover proposed by DMRC at Thampanoor for the light metro project.<\/p>\n
Natpac will begin the study later this week and the detailed report will be submitted to Kerala Rapid Transit Corporation Ltd (KRTL). The study will be mainly focused on the traffic density and cost-benefit analysis of the proposed flyover. The report submitted by Natpac will be reviewed by KRTL to make necessary suggestions to the DPR.<\/p>\n
The proposed flyover will have a length of 680-metre and will hold pillars of the proposed light metro in its median<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
DMRC earlier submitted the detailed project report (DPR) of the flyover last month to KRTL, and Natpac conducted a review of the report and was asked to conduct a traffic study.<\/p>\n
The flyover which runs parallel to the existing rail over bridge at Thampanoor is planned from RMS Junction till Chenthitta. It will take a turn to the railway side just ahead of the current rail over bridge at Thampanoor to the rail side and ends at Chenthitta. The proposed flyover will have a length of 680-metre and will hold pillars of the proposed light metro in its median.<\/p>\n
