In a bid to make Veli Tourist Village more attractive to the tourists, the government has decided to improve the infrastructure facilities at the campus.<\/p>\n
This was announced by Tourism Minister A C Moideen said in a written reply to questions by MLAs B Sathyan, K Ansalan, M Mukesh and V Joy on Assemble last Wednesday. The plan includes, renovation of the lake and building a compound wall in the beach area and construction of a new toilet complex near the parking area are some of the development activities that are planned at Veli Tourist Village.<\/p>\n
The Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Limited has been asked to prepare a project for Veli Tourist Village as per international standards.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Other plans for renovation include modernisation of the play area for children and introduction of new equipment. The parking area will also have frequent maintenance and the police aid post at Veli Tourist Village will also be modernised. CCTV cameras will be installed at Veli and Akkulam to prevent dumping of waste<\/p>\n
The Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Limited has been asked to prepare a project for Veli Tourist Village as per international standards. The project will be implemented in an area of 17.9 acres out of the land which was earlier taken over by the Tourism Department.<\/p>\n
