In a major boost to second phase development of Karamana-Kaliyikkavila, Revenue Department has decided to speed up the compensation amount for land owners in the second phase.<\/p>\n
Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan informed that the compensation has been awarded to 173 out of the 644 land owners. The compensation has been given to 8.39 hectares of land acquired till date. The reach of the project from Pravachambalam to Kodinada at Balaramapuram in the second phase has been notified. The award and inquiry process also have been completed.<\/p>\n
For the past several months the process of providing the compensation was delayed as the special officers for the land acquisition process were transferred when the new government came to power. Although Rs200 crore had been allocated in the budget, the delay in obtaining approval from the revenue department further dragged the project. Of the total fund of Rs 266 crore for the land acquisition till Vazhimukku, Rs 100 crore has been dispensed.<\/p>\n
Officials of the Revenue Department said that the dispensation of remaining Rs 166 crore has already begun. The district administration has also begun the process to rehabilitate 87 persons who were residing and running commercial establishments on rent beside the stretch.<\/p>\n
When the land acquisition is completed, the work on the widening of the second phase of the Karamna-Kaliyikavila can start.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
