A masterplan for <a href=\"http:\/\/entecity.com\" target=\"_blank\">Trivandrum<\/a> is on\u00a0anvil. The last master plan was approved in 1971 now it has passed 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier master plan was for 20 years. Twenty-one years passed and till now there is not even a small outline on the development of the capital city. During that master plan the city was architectured as per the whims and fancies of the then officers. Since 1991 the development department was trying to bring out a new master plan.<\/p>\n<p>Under Indian Institute of Architects, Indian Institute of Town Planners and Indian Institute of Engineers together is forming an outline for giving a facelift to the capital city. Their aim is to bring out Trivandrum into a city where commoners can dwell peacefully. The dream is to build leisure places for people and the city should be devoid of all traffic hazzles. This change is to bring back the glory of yesteryear which was once called the neatest city before independence.<\/p>\n<p>Visionaries will be drafting the master plan, where in 1971 when Eastfort was city&#8217;s nucleus now it is Technopark with more than five lakh people working in IT field. The Central Business District (CBD) has to be moved to Technopark and the city should be modified with modern amenities.<\/p>\n<p>The old city of Trivandrum during the time of monarchy will be maintained as a heritage city.<a title=\"Pappu Zebra to create traffic awareness\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/kerala-police-says-pappu-zebra-to-create-traffic-awareness\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Traffic will be restructured<\/a> and the number of vehicles should be controlled within the city vicinity.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s wait for the masters to bring out their master plan. The city need a new vigour, for Trivandrites are eagerly waiting for a facelift.
