As part of Trivandrum Metro Rail project, four flyovers have been proposed and one of them is in Thampanoor. The other three flyovers will come up at Sreekaryam, Ulloor, and Pattom. At Thampanoor, metro pillars will be constructed over the new flyover which runs from RMS Junction to Chenthitta.<\/p>\n

This also involves the widening of the existing two-lane flyover at Thampanoor into a four lane. Kerala Rapid Transit Corporation is planning a four-laning of the existing flyover which connects Thampanoor with Thycaud and Chenthitta. Currently, junction of the flyover is too congested and lack of traffic signals at this point causes a heavy traffic jam and confusion all the time. The project at Thampanoor is estimated to cost Rs180 crore.<\/p>\n

The flyover at Sreekaryam along the light metro corridor will be 630 m long and will have common pillars for vehicular traffic and MRTS. In Uloor junction, the DMRC has avoided MRTS corridor and had proposed a 390m flyover to the Medical College side. The flyover at Pattom that commences from near the PSC office will have a length of 570 meters and will end near Plamoodu. It will have common pillars for vehicular traffic and MRTS.
