The Annual Survey of India\u2019s City-System (ASICS) was undertaken by not-for-profit institution Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy (JCCD).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Trivandrum, Pune and Kolkata have emerged as the top three Indian cities that were tested on various urban governance parameters which evaluated 21 major cities from the country\u2019s 18 states.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Better a city scores in this survey the more likely it is that it will be able to deliver a better quality of life to citizens over the medium and long-term.<\/p>\n<p>Delhi has been ranked at a distant 9, behind much smaller cities such as Bhopal and Kanpur. Chandigarh, perceived to be a planned city, and Jaipur finds mention at the bottom of the list. Mumbai and Ahmedabad with a score of 4.4 top the list of cities that have invested adequate funds in public infrastructure and services.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Compared to global benchmarks of London and New York, which score 9.3 and 9.8 respectively, Indian cities only score somewhere between 2.1 and 4.4 on a scale of 10.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, compared to global benchmarks of London and New York, which score 9.3 and 9.8 respectively, Indian cities only score somewhere between 2.1 and 4.4 on a scale of 10.
