Trivandrum, Pune and Kolkata have emerged as the top three Indian cities that were tested on various urban governance parameters which evaluated 21 major cities from the country\u2019s 18 states. The Annual Survey of India\u2019s City-System (ASICS) was undertaken by not-for-profit institution Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy (JCCD).<\/p>\n

Delhi has been ranked at a distant 9, behind much smaller cities such as Bhopal and Kanpur. Chandigarh, perceived to be a planned city, and Jaipur finds mention at the bottom of the list. Mumbai and Ahmedabad with a score of 4.4 top the list of cities that have invested adequate funds in public infrastructure and services.<\/p>\n
Compared to global benchmarks of London and New York, which score 9.3 and 9.8 respectively, Indian cities only score somewhere between 2.1 and 4.4 on a scale of 10.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
