The results show the percentage of Job-ready youth. In other words, it shows the overall quality of fresher hires.<\/p>\n<p>Freshers make up the major chunk of annual hiring for most of the mid and large sized companies, recruiters and organisers. While recruiting freshers offers the most cost-effective means of hiring entry-level talent, hiring them brings its own set of challenges for hiring managers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Be it campus hiring or large-scale walk-in drives, recruiters and companies grapple with several problems that are unique to fresher recruitment. From sketchy resumes and insufficient practical exposure to unrealistic expectations about the job and attitudinal issues, recruiters feel are some of the problems which companies deal with as they try to onboard fresher talent.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 Says Ajay Holla, Founder and CEO of Wisdomjobs.com<\/p>\n<p>Coming back to survey results, Delhi topped among the metros with nearly 50% of recruiters saying that they are happy with the quality of candidates they hired. It is followed by Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata with 46%, 43%, 39%, 38% and 35% respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Other cities include Coimbatore at 48%, Trivandrum at 45%, Nagpur at 44% and Ghaziabad with 40% respectively. Hyderabad comes last.<\/p>\n<p>Freshers lack necessary exposure when it comes to finding a job. This force the recruiters to sit through incomplete and inaccurate resumes when they hire freshers.<\/p>\n<p>As more and more students continue to opt for Engineering courses, they make the majority 57% of the category in insufficient skills be it technical or soft.
