Vyttila, the busiest junction in the state will soon have a flyover putting an end to traffic congestion. In an affidavit filed by the state government, the construction of the proposed flyover at Vyttila will be complete by 2019.<\/p>\n
In the affidavit, PWD submitted the detailed project report (DPR) of the project and is currently being examined by Kerala infrastructure Fund Board (KIIFB) and the approval is expected at its meeting on July 21. The tender process will start on August and contractor could be selected by November 2017. The whole work can be completed in 18th months.<\/p>\n

The government had granted the administrative sanction for the flyover at an estimated cost of Rs97.75 crores after the Kerala Road Fund Board submitted a detailed project report.\u00a0The affidavit was filed in response to a petition by city resident Francis Manjooran seeking early construction of Vyttila flyover.<\/p>\n
The foundation stone for the project was laid by former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in February 2016. During that period, it was announced that the flyover will be commissioned by September 2017. However, the project dragged due to lack of coordination between various departments<\/p>\n
