According to the study “Disease burden trends in the states of India. From 1990 to 2016\u00a0Kerala\u00a0has recorded some major achievements.<\/p>\n
Kerala has the lowest overall\u00a0disease burden rate\u00a0in the country says the study conducted by Indian council of medical research (ICMR), Public health foundation of India (PHFI) and Institute for health metrics and evaluation (IHME).<\/p>\n
The per-person disease burden rate has dropped by 36% from 1990 to 2016 in India.<\/p>\n
There was an almost two-fold difference in this disease burden rate between the states in 2016, with Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh having the highest rates, and Kerala and Goa the lowest rates.<\/p>\n
Child and maternal nutrition is responsible for 15% of the total disease burden in India. Study also shows that disease burden due to child and maternal malnutrition has dropped in India substantially since 1990.
