The 22nd International Film Festival of Kerala\u00a0will come to an end today in Trivandrum. The closing ceremony of the week-long festival will be inaugurated by Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister of Kerala.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister will present Lifetime Achievement Award to Alexander Sokurov renowned Russian director.<\/p>\n
The Golden Crow Pheasant Award (Suvarna Chakoram) for the best feature film, the Silver Crow Pheasant Award (Rajata Chakoram) for the best director, the Best Debut Director Award (Rajata Chakoram) for the best debut director, will be awarded. 14 films to contest for the Golden Crown Pheasant Award including four Indian films – Kadvi Hawa (Dark Wind), Newton, Randuper and Aedan.<\/p>\n
The film that gets voted as the Best Entry in Competition by the festival delegates will receive the Audience Prize Rajata Chakoram. The FIPRESCI jury will award the best film selected by their panel, and NETPAC will award the Best Asian Film in the competition.<\/p>\n
This year IFFK witnessed 190 films from 65 countries with 40 premiere screenings. There was a strong representation of women in this year\u2019s IFFK. More than 30 films by women directors were screened.\u00a0 Women-centric Malayalam films like Adaminte Variyellu and Avalude Ravukal were screened under the ‘Avalkkoppam’ package<\/p>\n
Since its inception in 1996 IFFK has grown into a delightful addiction for the film buffs. Controversies have also been an inseparable element virtually with every edition and this year was no different.
