At last the cabinet decided to give us gas to cook, without differentiating APL-BPL class with nine cylinders in subsidy rate a year.<\/p>\n

The provision will be as per the cylinders that a family used last year with a maximum of 9 cylinders in subsidy. If there is any confusion over gas connection in a house, it will be decided as per the electricity connection. One the basis of one power connection there will be a provision for one gas connection.<\/p>\n

The state government has earlier decided to give nine cylinders to BPL families when central government decided to give only six in subsidy. The Wednesday’s UDF meeting recommended to give cylinders in subsidy rate even to families above poverty line.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that this subsidy will overburden the state with an amount of Rs. 120 crore. He cautioned that if the connection is not cut down to one per house, the state will have to take again a burden of Rs. 163 crore.<\/p>\n
