After much anticipation Apple finally revealed the smaller version of its tablet – The iPad mini<\/strong>. The smaller tablet was announced at the ‘Apple event’ in California on Tuesday. Apple Inc claims it is \u201cThe whole package in a smaller package\u201d. In the event, Apple has also unveiled its new Mac computers which include a 13-inch Macbook Pro with “Retina Display” and an iMac with a new type hard drive. They also updated the regular sized iPad with new features<\/p>\n

“Others have tried to make tablets smaller than the iPad and they’ve failed miserably, these are not great experiences.” said Apple senior vice president Phil Schiller.<\/p>\n

iPad Mini Specifications<\/h2>\n

With 7.9 Inch LED-backlit display, the iPad Mini<\/strong> is about half the size of the regular iPad and slightly larger than the 7-inch tablets from Google and Amazon. The device weighs around 309 grams and has a thickness of 7.2mm (the width of a pencil, Schiller said), which makes it 53% lighter and 23% thinner than the third generation iPad. Like the iPhone 5<\/a> the iPad Mini also comes in colors of Black & Slate and White & Silver.<\/p>\n

The iPad Mini<\/em> also features a front facing ‘FaceTime HD’ camera which can shoot 720p HD video and a 5 megapixel ‘iSight camera’ on the back with advanced optics which shoots video at full 1080P HD. It has a display-resolution of 768 resolutions at 163 pixels per inch (ppi), which is same as that of the iPad-2 but without the stunning “Retina Display”.<\/p>\n

“This isn’t just a shrunken-down iPad,” Schiller said. “It’s an entirely new design.”<\/p>\n

The iPad Mini is powered by the powerful A5 Processor and the Wi-Fi +Cellular version of the iPad Mini features<\/strong> 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) Connectivity. It has a long battery backup up to 10-hours and has the \u201cLightning connector\u201d that came new on the iPhone 5 and new iPods.<\/p>\n

The device has many pre-loaded applications, including the apps ‘Siri’ and \u2018AirPlay\u2019 which lets you streams movies directly onto your HD TV .The iPad Mini comes<\/a> in 3 storage options 16GB\/32GB\/64GB.<\/p>\n

iPad mini Price Details<\/h4>\n

The Wi-Fi only version of the iPad Mini will hit stores on Nov. 2, starting at $329 for the 16GB.The 32 GB and 64 GB versions will cost $429 and $529, respectively. The Wi-Fi + Cellular version of the iPad Mini will ship in mid-November, and will cost $459, $559 and $659 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB respectively. Apple will begin taking pre-orders on Friday.<\/p>\n
