<\/p>\nKerala is a land rich with festivals and culturally rich people find time to spend their time for all the celebrations happening around them. The time is nearing, the world is coming to Trivandrum for the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), where global cultures come together to exchange their views. The IFFK is conducted by Kerala State Chalachithra Academy to promote cinema and carve a niche to our Kerala culture.<\/p>\n
The highlight of the festival will be a competition section for the films from Asian, African and Latin American countries. The winner of the best feature film will get The Golden Crow Pheasant Award with a cash prize of Rs. 15 Lakhs which is shared among the director and producer. The Academy appoints a jury for the selection of films in the competition section.<\/p>\n

The 17th edition of IFFK will commence on 7th December 2012 at Kerala’s capital city. Around 14 films will be screened from Asian, African and Latin American countries for competition. The Malayalam cinema and IndianCinemaNow will screen seven movies each and Retrospective section will have master filmmakers Paul Cox, S Pierre Yameogo, Alain Resnais, Akira Kurasawa and Brazilian actress Helena Ignez.<\/p>\n
Fourteen films from Asia, Latin America and Africa will competet for the coveted “Suvarna Chakoram” and other awards in IFFK-2012. The following are the 14 movies competing for the awards-‘Bhoomiyude Avakashikal'(India), ‘Always Brando’ (Tunisia), ‘A Terminal Trust (Japan), Shutter (India), ‘Today'(France), ‘The Repentant’ (Algeria), ‘Sta. Nina’ (Philippines), ‘Present Tense (Turkey), ‘The Delay (Uruguay-Mexico-France), ‘The Last Step (Iran), ‘Nos Vemos Papa (Mexico), ‘Ivan’s Women’ (Chile), ‘Filimistan’ (India) and ‘I.D’ (India).<\/p>\n
The IFFK is rich with regular delegate participation from more than 50 countries. As the participation is increasing yearly, it gives film producers immense opportunities to highlight their movies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
