A software christened <strong>Sanketham<\/strong> powered by the Information Kerala Mission [IKM] enables this. It will allow e-filing of applications and easy monitoring for applicants.<\/p>\n<p>Transparency and Speed are the two key factors this novel system is set to bring to the process. It will work on first-come-first-serve basis. The next applicant will be considered only if the current applicant gets rejected due to certain reasons. The executive chairman and director of IKM let out the details of this system.<\/p>\n<p>A link for filing the applications will be present in the websites of IKM and most other local bodies. The link will contain a pre-loaded form which needs to be filled by the applicant. Checklists related to the design and dimensions of the building will also be present. Also the plan of the building can also be included but this is not compulsory.<\/p>\n<p>In the process of filing the application, if any of the dimensions chosen are not as per the norms specified by the government, a pop-up will immediately indicate this. Likewise the plan can be revised. The standards and rules regarding permits will also be published by means of the software.<\/p>\n<p>Document verification, site inspection and other procedures involved in getting the building permit will be carried out manually. The benefit of this system is that one can track their file without having to go to the panchayat office in person. Also the <strong>permit can be downloaded from the site<\/strong> after the verification process is complete. Now the permit is sent by post and a time period of atleast three weeks is required for all the procedures to be complete.
