In Western countries, adult centres work with legal support as type of sex clubs for both men and women. Licensed hosts treat the clients who need sexual comfort. In short, it is an open outlet for sex. Now, it is seen that some support the idea of adult centres to prevent sex crimes in India as we daily see news of sex scandals! There is no doubt, sex crimes are its rise here! From small children to aged ladies are being sexually harassed everyday! Even small boys are not safe these days. And none including government has got an exact solution to control this.

In this troubled scenario, EnteCity has picked some comments on the topic from people from different parts of Kerala. Its public has to decide whether it would be effective in Indian society or not. So we leave it to your hands. Read and shoot your opinions!

Opinions:

“I completely disagree with the idea of open adult centres. First of all, the idea of such centres is never a part of our culture. Even if we allow open adult centres here, it will make more tendencies among people to go for extra sexual relationships. And chances are more to misuse such facilities.”

– Anuradha Menon, Kollam.

“Open adult centres can prevent sex crimes to an extent. I stick to the opinion that open adult centres can make some good changes for sure. Because nowadays, such crimes are increasing at a greater rate and especially teenagers are anxious to get involved in such crimes. It may be due to lack of knowledge for them. And mostly parents are shy in discussing such topics with their kids and textual knowledge also can not give them more information. So I think such centres will be surely helpful to the society to reduce the anxiety to know about sex.”

– Krishna Prasad, Thrissur

“No changes will be there even if open adult centres are permitted. It is not apt to Indian culture. In my opinion, offering proper education and awareness programmes on sex are the only ways to prevent sex crimes to an extent.”

– Sandeep Nair, Kannur

“Bringing legal adult centres are a good option. Make such facilities through legal ways. Now, most of the sex scandals are the result of frustrations. And correcting the whole public is never possible. If we give open chance for people, they will be less attracted to make actions like rapes.”

– Samvedna Varma, Thiruvananthapuram

“The sex scandals are some mental disorders. Sex is there in the world since the beginning of humanity. And the sex scandals and culture of prostitution were always there. But, allowing it in Indian society doesn’t make any sense or change. There are prostitutes already who work with or without legal permission. The increasing sex crimes are just the loss of moral values of people. Only proper guidance and education can bring a halt to these crimes, not open adult centres.”

– Ann Maria, Cochin

“The idea is good. But, if it applies here, only youth will be supportive. Parents and senior people never have positive attitude towards this. And there may be a chance to increase the divorce rates. Sex is something which has a major role in married life. We can not restrict the centres just for singles. And these centres can not reduce the sex crimes in a greater level.”

– Naveen Kumar, Aleppy

“Open sex outlets are not the way to prevent sex crimes. Better awareness and guidance to people are the ways for that. And in my opinion, even the existing prostitution areas in India should be prohibited and the government should provide better jobs to the men and women who are involved in it.”

– Hitesh Shankar, Kozhikode

“Since there are lots of incidents happening in our society it clearly says mainly women are not safe to go anywhere. If legalized open adult sex centers launch and allocate to a particular area, at least people who wants to try it or interested in these stuffs can go there; instead of men trying to attack women at other places. But this should be allowed under strict monitoring by government departments.”

– Shyamala Nair, Thrissur

“Adult centres are against India’s culture. Making an open area for sex, does not contribute to eliminate sex scandals. It will bring negative impacts than positive. Now, only some are attracted to paid sex. When it becomes, open, there will be an extensive tendency to visit such areas.”

– Shafeeq Ahmed, Malappuram

“India is totally different from Western countries. Their lifestyle cannot be applied here. And these kinds of facilities are not going to change sex crimes in the nation. The one and only solution is offering education. Proper guidance should begin from home through parents, then from school and colleges.”

– Aashish Gopal, Thiruvananthapuram

“Open Adult Centres” are new to India.
