The Travancore Devaswom Board has build a 20,000 sq.ft area as resting place for the pilgrims at the Sannidhanam during this period.<\/p>\n<p>Small scale traders have planted temporary refreshment stalls from the base camp at Nilackal and selected points along the Pampa-Sannidhanam path. Widening work of the roads on the trekking path has already been completed. The power supply all over the Sannidhanam area is done by the Kerala State Electricity Board and is fast progressing.<\/p>\n<p>The Lord Ayyappa temple will be open today and N. Damodaran Potti of Vaikom in Kottayam district and AN Unnikrishnan Namboodiri of Karikkode Illom at Karamala in Koothattukulam will be the new head priests at the Ayyappa Temple and the Malikappuram Devi Temple will be priests for the coming one year.<\/p>\n<p>Sabarimala Mandalam pilgrimage of 41-days will commence from Friday. On December 26, the Mandalam pilgrimage will come to a close and the temple will reopen on December 30 for the Makaravilakku festival. The Makaravilakku falls on 14 January, 2013.
