A man who shy away from media, who said has got nothing to say about himself or his movies….still \u00a0EnteCity<\/a> took hold of Shajoon\u00a0Kariyal<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and unfortunately we could squeeze very little from him. Shajoon Kariyal\u00a0joined the film industry at an young age of 18 as assistant to ace director IV Sasi. Shajoon’s father and IV Sasi had a partnership distribution company, so had good relation with IV Sasi at a very young age. So after pre-degree Shajoon told father that he is not going to pursue his higher studies but want to join films.<\/p>\n

Vadakkumnathan<\/p><\/div>\n

‘Entecity’ pried into Shajoon for his long gap from movies and now surging with ‘Chettayees<\/strong><\/em>‘. The director opened up with his earlier flops before a whooping victory of Mohanlal<\/a> starrer ‘Vadakkumnathan<\/a>‘. After ‘Vadakkumnathan’, the scripts that came to him for direction were all emotional, so waited for something different to come on his way. The ‘Vadakkumnathan’ success gave a favourable situation for Shajoon to continue his directorial career but was waiting for ‘that’ script to create a mark.<\/p>\n

Later he decided to work on a project with Girish Puthencherry’s script, but Girish’s busy schedules lagged it and the tragedy of his death, put an end to the project. When projects hiccuped all through his career, it was in mid-2012, a new banner called ‘Thakkali Films<\/strong>‘ was launched with a team work of Biju Menon, Suresh Krishna, Cinematographer P Sukumar, Script Writer Sachi and Shajoon Kariyal\u00a0himself. This banner is now coming up with Shajoon Kariyal’s next venture ‘Chettayees’. When we asked him why this curious name ‘Thakkali (Tomato), he laughed and said the vegetable is sweet and sour so will be our movie.<\/p>\n
