Codenamed \u201c<em><strong>1.0-litre Car<\/strong><\/em>&#8220;, the super-efficient car will be affordable and offers all the comfort features of a normal car including climate control. The car will use a modified version of the A1\u2019s steel platform but the suspension and the interiors will be much lighter in order to decrease weight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The car, known internally as the Audi \u2018<strong>1.0-litre car<\/strong>\u2019, will be based on the platform of the current A1 and will be an \u2018affordable\u2019 full four-seater that offers all the creature comforts of a normal car, including climate control\u2019- said Wolfgang Durheimer, Audi&#8217;s new head of technical development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5372\" title=\"1.0-litre Car Audi - Red\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2012\/11\/1.0-litre-Car-audi-pictures.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although details about the car is still unknown, it is confirmed that\u00a0 the most economical family car will not have the 2- cylinder diesel engine seen in the VW XLR-1.But instead it will have a <strong>1.0-litre engine<\/strong> with electric assisted drive. \u201cWeight is not the biggest engineering challenge with this project. However, it is expected that the car\u2019s interior will be radically lighter than normal, as will the suspension system.&#8221; &#8211; said Wolfgang Durheimer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.audi.in\/sea\/brand\/in.html\" target=\"_blank\">Audi<\/a> is also planning to use a new type of injection-moulded carbon fibre for some components. Injection-moulded carbon fibre is a faster process and components can be made in just two and half minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5371\" title=\"1.0-litre Car Audi- Orange\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2012\/11\/1.0-litre-Car-100kmpl-audi-pics.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"485\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It will take at least 3 years to make its debut. If Audi can keep its costs low and affordable enough for regular people, then definitely it will be a huge success in the automotive market.
