Priyanka chopra has finally been selected to play <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mary_Kom\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Kom<\/a> in Sanjay Leela Bhansali&#8217;s upcoming film based on the life of India\u2019s ace boxer. Sanjay Leela Bhansali&#8217;s biopic on the Olympic medal winner had been in talks for a while now. <strong>Priyanka Chopra<\/strong> had earlier denied the project, but now she is back on board.<\/p>\n<p>A source from the production house says \u201cPriyanka was in talks with the production house for quite a while now. We were trying to work out her dates and finally things are settled. She is on board to play lead. We intend to begin our workshop with Priyanka and Mary soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mary Kom already met Bhansali a few weeks ago to discuss about the film. The source says \u201cSince Mary Kom is a boxer, her body and skin type is different. Even her accent is not what you hear here. Priyanka will undergo some physical training and workshops to help her understand the character better. Of course, at some point, there will be some meetings between Mary Kom and Priyanka too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The movie will be directed by Umang Kumar and shooting will start next year. Priyanka Chopra will begin the training for this movie in January 2013.
