Hotel <strong>Abhirami<\/strong> located in front of Attukal Temple was asked to shut down by the authorities after being found operating under unhygienic conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The food safety officials inspected the hotel and found that it was functioning in unclean conditions and asked the management to close the hotel till further notice. The authorities also found that the drainage pipe was leaking inside the kitchen.\u00a0It was yesterday evening, when food safety officials conducted the inspections at hotels and other eateries near the Attukal area.<\/p>\n<p>The State Food Safety Commissioner has published the guidelines for hotels, restaurants, canteens, and other eateries functioning in the state. The circular available at the website www.foodsafety.kerala.gov.in recommends 30 guidelines to be followed by the hotels. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident and it seems like hotels are reluctant to follow the rules.<\/p>\n<p>Even after strict guidelines and extensive raids by the officials, many hotels are still serving bad food to their customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What can be done to prevent such issue?
