The flash news and main news in channels give price hike in all areas, morning papers invite us with price hikes… so where are we going? A land known to foreigners as ‘God’s own country<\/strong>‘ is in turn becoming a ‘Devil’s own land’ for the common man!<\/p>\n

Its a surprise that how Keralities are living in this day-to-day price hike. Take it transport (all means of transport), groceries, vegetables, name any thing… we hear price hikes. Today morning the newspaper invited me with a shocking news that the prices of rice and onion are shooting and that is more than a bomb blast for my kitchen and dining room.<\/p>\n

The economic strata also put me in the category of a common man along with whom I too wail everyday because of the price hike. I blame me and my people for adjusting to this price boom or is it adjusting nature or is it our callous attitude – ‘after all what can we do’!<\/p>\n

I don’t want to copy paste the previous charges as well as the current charges of grocery and shock my readers, as they are already shell bombed by reading the daily. I wish to warn the customer by listing the names of groceries when they touch will burn their hand, heart and topple their family budget. The list that follows will surely shock a customer as it contains commonly used vegetables along with branded rice. Counting the list from small onion to big (savala), drum stick, cucumber, beans (Amarakka), small green chilly, red chilly\u00a0 and name it you can get shock treatment by draining your purse.<\/p>\n

So in future, Malayalees will surely have to devoid their common curries like ‘Sambar’, ‘Avial’ and ‘Thoran’. So tell me what are we going to eat in future. Keralities cannot live without coconut and when we go to market the price of coconut shocks and persuade us to place it from where it has been taken. And what about coconut oil… God! no more words… Is this ‘God’s own Country’?!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
