It is an international art exhibition that will occupy Kochi for the next three months.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the event is to help make the Indian art scene more \u00a0focused on art rather than on market. The organizers hope that it will become a hub to launch talks on art. The 3 month long extravaganza will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at 5.30pm at parade grounds, Fort Kochi.<\/p>\n<p>A concert by British musician and artist, M.I.A will feature in the opening ceremony. About 80 artists from India and abroad will grace the occasion. Some of the big names include Ariel Hassan(Argentina), Amanullah Mojadidi (Afghanistan) , Wangechi Mutu( Africa) and Zhang Enli (China). The spice hub of India went into the hands of the Portuguese, the Dutch and then became a princely state of the British.
