Two years ago, we witnessed a new generation of theatres called multiplex in our state. The arrival of multiplex has indeed changed our movie going experience.<\/p>\n

Multiplex offers many features such as comfortable push back seats, online seat reservation and even food and beverages are served at your seats. Well that’s about to change, a theatre that surpasses multiplexes has been launched in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

TGV Cinemas<\/a>, a theatre chain in Malaysia has introduced a revolutionary new kind of theatre called Beanieplex -a.k.a. “the bean bag hall\u201d<\/strong> located in the Sunway Pyramid mall<\/strong>. As the name suggest, Beanieplex doesn\u2019t have conventional seats or push-back chairs, instead it has couches. Couches that are made of comfy bean bags.<\/p>\n

According to the TGV website, “The revolutionary \u2018Beanieplex<\/strong>\u2019, Malaysia\u2019s first and only cinema hall featuring bean bag seats, offers patrons a cosy and relaxed viewing experience and has become a favourite among the movie-goers.”<\/p>\n

In the age of Netflix and On-Demand videos where you can stream a movie directly into your laptop or smartphone, an itchy acrylic chair will look less appealing when compared to your comfortable couch. The theatres have to take it to a new level by giving people an unforgettable viewing experience and make them chose over their own couches.<\/p>\n

Recently, many theatres in Trivandrum<\/a> are also upgrading to world-class facilities, by offering better viewing experience. The government operated theatres- Kalabhavan, Kairali-Sree and Nila<\/a> has been upgraded to international standard. Many private theatres in the city are also following the same path. However, majority of the theatres in the state are still pathetic and need to be upgraded.<\/p>\n
