This was said by the Health Minister VS Sivakumar in a press conference. He added that the decision of giving the referral status to MCH was taken after strengthening the function of Primary Health Centres and Taluk Hospitals. For this 160 doctors were given training and also introduced the &#8216;refer back&#8217; system after the patient&#8217;s treatment at the MCH. The government gave new vehicles to MCH for giving expert treatment to patients who were send to Taluk Hospitals. The government has decided to make the Taluk Hospital functional for 24 hours. If it become a success, it will be introduced all over the state.<\/p>\n<p>Public Relation Officers will be appointed to co-ordinate the functioning of the system. Two additional doctors will be appointed in the Chirayankeezhu and Nedumangad hospitals and orthopaedic doctors will also be appointed here. Apart from the existing Out Patient (OP) section a referral OP will also be installed in SAT Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>A Poly Trauma Mortuary Geriatric Complex will be installed in <a href=\"http:\/\/entecity.com\" target=\"_blank\">Trivandrum<\/a>. There is a plan to start a multi-dispensary research laboratory and the X-ray system in the hospital will soon be digitalised. The minister also said that the government is also planning to start the digital radio-graphic system.<\/p>\n<p>A plan for a central kitchen to cook food for 2000 people is on anvil. Apart from that Liquid Oxygen Plant, Power Laundry and a Corridor will be built soon.
