Government of Kerala<\/strong> is implementing the m-Governance project, which will enable the people to avail services of 90 state government departments. The m-Governance project being implemented by Kerala State IT Mission is the first of its kind project undertaken anywhere in the country.<\/p>\n

The initiative is taken based on the fact that Kerala has the largest number of mobile phones in the country. The state also tops in the mobile phone penetration rate. With the m-Governance, people can have access to any government service on a 24X7 bases through their mobile phones.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cCitizens exposed to access government services through their mobile phones could be a radical but real experience in Kerala,\u2019\u2019 says Principal Secretary of IT Department P H Kurian.<\/p>\n

Various departments of governments and organisations functioning under them are enabled through an integrated service delivery infrastructure platform in a plug-and-play style. Kerala State IT Mission is the nodal agency for implementing m-Governance in Kerala<\/strong> and MobME Wireless<\/a> is the implementing agency for mobile and Service Providers.<\/p>\n

The prime focus of the m-Governance project is to build a centralised platform into which the services\/solutions for each and every Department can be integrated. The 3 channels of mobile communication (voice, signalling and data) and a range of technologies such as data service based applications are used for this project. The Common Mobile Service Delivery Platform is also used for providing services such as SMS, MMS, Voice and IVR platform. 110 e-SMS accounts have been setup for various departments for inter-departmental and outward communication through mobile technology.<\/p>\n

How to access m-Governance<\/h2>\n

To access services under various government departments, type the department name and send to 537252.<\/p>\n

For Example- To know the bus timings of long distance routes of KSRTC<\/strong>, just type in the below format and send to 537252
