Employees on the Technopark campus will have something innovative to enjoy their free time. A novel interactive art piece for techies called \u2013 \u2018Future Alliance<\/strong>\u2019 will be inaugurated today at 3Pm by Chief Minister, Shri. Oommen Chandy<\/strong>. Future Alliance is sponsored by Allianz<\/a> to mark the company\u2019s 10th year of operations on the Technopark campus.<\/p>\n

Future Alliance<\/strong> which symbolises man\u2019s connection with the universe is powered by human effort and solar energy. The part art and part science installation is designed to promote group activities.<\/p>\n

Future Alliance consists of 9 traditional \u2018mandapas\u2019, representing 9 planets in our solar system. Each mandapa has a cycle with pedals. The cycles are connected to different water jet within a fountain. The five sets of hands which support the fountain represent the five oceans and at the top is a large globe.<\/p>\n

By pedalling the cycle, water is jetted into the fountain, which spins the globe. The solar power plant on the site powers the LED lights situated in and around the installation. The lights are controlled by automatic timers to light up the installation at night. The space around the fountain can accommodate over 200-250 people and can be used as an outdoor venue for techies to meet and conduct innovation workshops.<\/p>\n

\u201cFuture Alliance is a symbolic, interactive artistic installation that is part science and part magic. It is envisaged as a community space and at the same time lays the ground for innovative thought conveying sound messages about renewable energy, water, inter-personal relationships, our world and the universe. The idea germinated by Allianz to us was an added attraction to the pristine surroundings of Technopark. Inspired by the sheer concept, we pledged the space and the necessary support to make this idea into a reality.\u201d said Technopark CEO, K G Gireesh Babu.<\/p>\n

Rakesh Gupta, M.D of Allianz Trivandrum<\/a> states, \u201cAllianz will be completing successful 10 years in Technopark and we thought that developing a public space that provides inspiration for innovation is a befitting way to celebrate our success with the people of Technopark. We would continue to contribute to development of the community at Technopark as we did with Technopark Bicycle Club last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Future Alliance is located outside the Bhavani building<\/strong>, and the installation is done by \u2018iX team’, a social innovation group. Local artisans designed the mandapas and the entire structure was completed in just two months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
