{"id":7019,"date":"2013-01-12T09:18:07","date_gmt":"2013-01-12T03:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=7019"},"modified":"2013-01-12T09:19:41","modified_gmt":"2013-01-12T03:49:41","slug":"crime-and-criminal-tracking-network-system-launched-in-trivandrum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/crime-and-criminal-tracking-network-system-launched-in-trivandrum\/","title":{"rendered":"Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System, launched in Trivandrum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The state level operations of the <strong>Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System<\/strong>, (CCTNS) which enables the police to link all police services across the country, was launched by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the Kerala Police headquarters in <a href=\"http:\/\/entecity.com\" target=\"_blank\">Trivandrum<\/a> on January 10.<\/p>\n<p>The comprehensive and integrated system for tracking offenders and sharing data of crimes and criminals among 14,000 police stations across the country was formally launched in New Delhi last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Police needs to keep one step ahead of the criminals who are using the latest technology. The launch of CCTNS is a step in this direction as this will enable the police to have faster access to information regarding crime and criminals across the country.\u201d Chief Minister Oomen Chandy said.<\/p>\n<p>Using <strong>CCTNS technology<\/strong>, police would be able to track criminals in other states and bring them to justice.\u00a0&#8220;The new technology and computer based programmes will help investigation in a more effective manner and also help in not dragging innocent people into criminal proceedings,&#8221;- the CM said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.keralapolice.org\/newsite\/cctns.html\" target=\"_blank\">CCTNS<\/a> will enable citizens to get e-services from Police Stations such as filing of petitions, checking the status of cases, passing on information to police, getting information on recovered items and submitting request for various services from police station.<br \/>\nCCTNS facility is currently being implemented at<a href=\"http:\/\/listing.entecity.com\/businesstags\/police\" target=\"_blank\"> police stations in Trivandrum city<\/a> and rural.
