KSRTC officials said that the new route number system will not confuse the passengers.<\/p>\n<p>The number system was first introduced in 2008 but failed to garner a good response. Even though it failed, the numbers have not been removed officially. One can still see route boards displaying the route numbers of big city bus stations like East Fort. People don\u2019t use them anymore. However, this time, <a title=\"AC Low floor to connect Kerala\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/ac-low-floor-to-connect-kerala\/\" target=\"_blank\">KSRTC<\/a> is planning to introduce computerised system where each bus route will be given unique numbers which can be easily identified, KSRTC Chief Traffic Manager in charge of Executive Director (Operations) K M Irshad said.<\/p>\n<p>The bus route number system was launched, in order to help non-Malayali tourists and other visitors to the city who are used to seeing route numbers on buses in cities like Mumbai and Delhi. Currently, all the route boards on the buses are written only in Malayalam. Many route boards are illegible and are very difficult to read.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the KSRTC is planning to reintroduce them along with other hi-tech facilities in Trivandrum.
