{"id":7158,"date":"2013-01-16T11:17:01","date_gmt":"2013-01-16T05:47:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=7158"},"modified":"2013-01-16T11:17:01","modified_gmt":"2013-01-16T05:47:01","slug":"tourist-amenity-centre-at-ponmudi-inauguration-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/tourist-amenity-centre-at-ponmudi-inauguration-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourist amenity centre at Ponmudi \u2013 Inauguration today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <strong>tourist amenity centre<\/strong> built jointly by <a title=\"Kerala second top tourism spot in India\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/kerala-second-top-tourism-spot-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kerala Tourism<\/a> and the Forest Department at <a title=\"Ponmudi: A place to be friends with the clouds\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/ponmudi-a-place-to-be-friends-with-the-clouds\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ponmudi<\/a> upper sanatorium will be inaugurated on 16th January by <strong>Chief Minister Oommen Chandy<\/strong>. Along with the amenity centre there is also a Children\u2019s park which will be inaugurated by Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-7159\" title=\"Amenity center ponmudi\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2013\/01\/amenity-center-ponmudi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"537\" height=\"830\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/01\/amenity-center-ponmudi.jpg 453w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/01\/amenity-center-ponmudi-301x466.jpg 301w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <em>amenity centre<\/em> built at a cost of Rs.90 lakh will have an information centre and a cafeteria. The centre also provides public convenience facilities such as toilets and comfort stations for the tourists. Currently, such facilities are inadequate at Ponmudi.<\/p>\n<p>The income generated from the amenity centre will be used for the functioning of the Forest protection committee (<strong>Vana Samrakshana Samiti<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Forests &amp; Environment, K B Ganesh Kumar will preside over the function and MP A.
