Trivandrum will host the 11th edition of the annual Kerala State School IT Mela which is starting today. (January 23, 2013)<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the mela in the presence of Education Minister Shri P K Abdu Rabb and Minster for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty. Technopark Trivandrum<\/strong> will be the venue of the IT Mela.<\/p>\n \u201cAbout 500 students from across the State, who are the first and second prize winners of the District level school IT Mela, will participate in the State School IT Mela 2013<\/strong>. The IT fest is being organised as a camp for the students which will be an occasion to showcase their IT skills and also to interact with the IT industry.\u201d Abdul Nasar Kaipancherry, Executive Director, IT@School said during the press conference.<\/p>\n The mela will have various competitions such as Digital Painting, Web Page Designing, Multimedia presentations, Malayalam Typing, IT Projects and IT Quiz. The competition will be held in 2 categories- High School level and Higher Secondary School level. FOSS based softwares are used for conducting these competitions. The mela will also have 2 interactive sessions on Cyber Crime<\/a> awareness and Career Focus.<\/p>\n The Technopark is hosting IT Mela for the sixth consecutive year. ICFOSS Centre and the Park Centre inside the Technopark campus will be the venues for the different events and competitions.
