The Mozilla Foundation launched two phones powered by its open source ‘Firefox OS<\/strong>‘ platform with focus on low-end markets.<\/p>\n

The company invited developers to try its new Firefox operating system challenging Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. Firefox OS<\/strong> is built entirely using open web standards. In Firefox OS, HTML5<\/a> apps can do “Phone things” like make a phone call or send a text message.<\/p>\n

\"\"“This week we are announcing our new Firefox <\/span>OS developer preview phones<\/span> because we believe that developers will help bring the power of the web to mobile,” Mozilla said in its official blog.<\/p>\n

The 2 preview phones named Keon and Peak is developed by Spanish based manufacturer Geeksphone in partnership with Telefonica a Spanish telecommunications provider.<\/p>\n

The Keon model<\/strong> comes with a 3.5 inch multi-touch screen and is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. It has 512MB ram and 4GB ROM. Keon also has a 3 MP Camera.<\/p>\n

The Peak has a bigger 4.3 inch IPS Multi-touch screen and has a 1.2 GHz x 2 Snapdragon processor. It has 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM. There is also an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.<\/p>\n
