Four private bus drivers were apprehended by the City Police for drunken driving. They were held during an inspection conducted in buses between 6.30 am and 9.30<\/p>\n
Sunildharan, Ramachandran Nair, Suraj and Rajan were those nabbed. The drivers were working for the private bus Al-Ameen, Sreeja, Devi and RKV<\/strong>. Cases were registered against the drivers incorporating sections on rash driving. The police have also recommended the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) to cancel the license of the drivers.<\/p>\n It was after a complaint made to the City Police Commissioner about drunken driving that inspection was carried out in 10 buses using breath analyzer.<\/p>\n It is the duty of the Bus owner to make sure that, the driver is not drunk. Police can also take action against bus owners and cancel the license of the bus.<\/p>\n The inspection was conducted by a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Traffic, Mahesh and comprised Traffic Circle Inspector P Niyas and sub-inspectors Manikantan Nair, Ramachandran and Naseer.<\/p>\n Buses race with one another for taking in passengers . Even though the rule was made to fix a speed governor to limit the vehicle speed, this rule has been ignored by the owners.<\/p>\n Shouldn’t an action be taken against this reckless driving?
