The two beaches in Trivandrum, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/the-guardian-calls-varkala-as-the-new-goa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Varkala<\/a> and <a title=\"Kovalam \u2013 The Paradise Found\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/kovalam-the-paradise-found\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kovalam<\/a> are listed in the category of &#8216;<strong>Top 25 beaches in Asia&#8217; by Trip Advisor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Varkala is listed in the 12th position whereas Kovalam got the 14th place among the list. Trip Advisor called Varkala as an \u201c<strong>Excellent, clean and shallow beach<\/strong>\u201d and Kovalam as \u201c<strong>a MUST MUST visit and keep coming back<\/strong>\u201d. Varkala and Kovalam were also selected in the Top 10 Beaches in India listed by &#8216;Times of India&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The top spot went to Boracay beach in Philippines and second position was awarded to Agonda Beach in Goa.<\/p>\n<p>Five more beaches from India also made their way into the list of &#8216;Top 25 Beaches in Asia&#8217;. They are Radhanagar Beach,Havelock Island(4th), Cavelossim Beach (7th), Mandrem Beach (16th), Baga Beach, Calangute (17th), Candolim Beach, Bardez (24th). Thus eight beaches from India got selected in the list.<\/p>\n<p>The list includes beaches from the Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea and China<\/p>\n<p>Travellers&#8217; Choice Beaches Awards was based entirely on feedback from millions of TripAdvisor travellers and 276 winning beaches were named around the world.
