On the eve of the International Women’s Day<\/strong> tomorrow, renowned dancer and social activist Mallika V Sarabhai and Swiss pianist Elizabeth Sombart will present a special performance of ‘Women with broken Wings<\/strong>,’ their acclaimed international show at Sree Moolam Club, Vazuthacaud<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The artists have dedicated the show to the memory of the billion women tortured, raped and killed across the world. The amount collected from this show will be donated to “Karmakshetra Educational Foundation<\/a>” a charity commissioner society.<\/p>\n

\u2018Women with Broken Wings<\/strong>\u2019 is a humanist project launched by Elizabeth Sombart, to raise global consciousness on the violence committed against women. It is a virtual memorial on the web for the billions of battered women all over the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone has memorials; soldiers killed in war have memorials. The one billion battered and bruised women have no memorials .The website, womenwithbrokenwings.com<\/a>, was created so that the families of these women can connect to each other. Anyone can go to the website and put a picture or a star in the name of one of these women, so that eventually it will be a sky full of stars saying I miss you,\u201d said Mallika Sarabhai.<\/p>\n

The two day Women\u2019s day celebration is organized by Kerala government’s Department of Social Justice<\/a> along with other government agencies working for the women empowerment such as Kudumbasree<\/a>, Nirbhaya, KSWDC etc.<\/p>\n
