Saheli<\/strong><\/em>, the world’s first and only non-steroidal oral contraceptive pill<\/strong> and India’s safest bet for reversible contraception, will be available online.<\/p>\n

As a tribute to womanhood on International Women’s Day HLL Lifecare Ltd<\/a> has launched the popular oral contraceptive pill (OCP) across the leading e-commerce websites so that women can have easier access to it.<\/p>\n

\nSaheli originally developed by Central Drugs Research Institute (CDRI) as India’s first indigenous molecule (Centchroman), was commercialised by HLL in 1991. Saheli is the only non-steroidal contraceptive pill that has no side effects. It is the most convenient and safest mode of contraception with a dosage of one pill a week. \u2018Saheli\u2019 would control unintended pregnancy, birth rates among the teens, the need for abortion and abortion rates.<\/p>\n

‘Saheli celebrates the freedom of married women who can choose to space their pregnancies and thereby ensure the best for their children. It saves young women from the agony of unsafe abortions,’ Dr Ayyappan said.<\/p>\n
