Soon you will be able to experience just that at the <a title=\"Priyadarshini Planetarium to get a new look\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/priyadarshini-planetarium-to-get-a-new-look\/\" target=\"_blank\">Priyadarshini Planetarium<\/a> in Trivandrum.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the modernizing, the Priyadarshini Planetarium will get a new feature called \u2018<strong>Kerala Panoramic 2D<\/strong>\u2019 which will give you a unique panoramic viewing experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Kerala Panoramic 2D\u2019 is panoramic film shot using a 16 megapixel camera armed with a fish-eye lens from a helicopter over a range of scenic locations in the State. The filming will be carried out by Carl Zeiss team and the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum (KSSTM) will arrange the other logistics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a one-of-a-kind technology that hardly any other planetarium in the country has. The viewer will be made to feel entirely immersed in the experience for the dome\u2019s curvature will be nullified by the fish-eye projection lens that will fill the interior,\u201d said Director of KSSTM Arul Jerald Prakash.<\/p>\n<p>Ponmudi and few ecologically significant areas of the Western Ghats have been selected by the KSSTM to become subjects for the unique panoramic viewing experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Priyadarshini Planetarium was opened in 1994 and it was high time the city\u2019s sole planetarium was modernised. The current projectors and softwares used in the Planetarium are long abandoned by others in the country. But this is going to change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>German company Carl Zeiss has teamed up with KSSTM for giving the planetarium a makeover.<\/strong> The modernisation of planetarium will add additional components designed to alter the perception of the planetarium such as a new dome and state of the art projectors. The planetarium will also feature IMAX screening capabilities.
