Actress Anjali, who had released a statement to the media in Chennai on April 8 alleging harassment by her aunt Bharathi Devi and director Kalanjiyam, has been missing from a hotel in Jubilee Hills area in Hyderabad.<\/p>\n

Anjali has gone missing from the hotel since Monday morning and her mobile phone was also switched off.Police said that they have registered a missing case and investigating the matter based on a complaint lodged by Ravi Shankar, the brother of the actress.<\/p>\n

The actress had on Monday called Tamil media and complained that her aunt, Bharati Devi and Tamil film director Kalanjayam, were abusing her and using her like an ATM leading a lavish life from her earnings. Anjali reportedly said she feared for her life.\u00a0 She alleged that her stepmother and director Kalanjiyam would be responsible for any harm to her.<\/p>\n

It is reported that, Director Kalanjayam introduced Anjali to Tamil films and Bharati Devi had brought her from her native village in rural Andhra Pradesh to Chennai when she was still in intermediate.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Director Kalanjiyam petitioned the Chennai city Commissioner of Police S George and sought action against actress Anjali for defaming him. Bharati Devi denied allegations that she exploited Anjali.
